**Job Description**:
The Economics Graduate, or near Graduate, is a new role established to support BlueScope's purpose: To create and inspire smart solutions in steel, to strengthen our communities for the future.

Reporting to the Economist, you will work closely with the Corporate Strategy Team and provide macroeconomic insights to support Business Leaders' planning and forecasting requirements, across the global footprint.

**What you will do**

You will contribute to the maintenance of key databases and the collection and dissecting of global and domestic macroeconomic trends through use of leading-edge information systems.

You will undertake fact-based analysis to address major strategic issues and support the Economist in the development of business opportunities.

You will work with, and develop meaningful relationships over time with business leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners.

**What are we looking for**

We're expecting you to be a high-performing academic achiever, with a sound knowledge of current macroeconomic trends. You will be keen to learn from, and contribute to, a team focused on delivering high quality output. You will demonstrate a forward-thinking and proactive approach, with the ability to accumulate and translate data into practical insights that best positions BlueScope's reputation as a market leader.

We're seeking an individual with completed, or near-complete, tertiary-qualifications in Economics. Sound PC skills in Microsoft Office, with some working knowledge of leading-edge information and technology tools such as Power BI and UiPath considered favourable.

**Location is Port Kembla, NSW.**
