Overview
Kyabram District Health Service (KDHS) is a medium-sized rural health service providing a range of programs including acute, subacute, residential aged care, and allied and primary health care services. KDHS operates across three campuses in Kyabram, Stanhope, and Tongala.

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Enrolled Nurse to join our graduate nursing program in a supportive clinical environment. Graduates will start in residential aged care to consolidate their nursing knowledge and skills from their Diploma of Nursing. The program includes 12 months in this department, with the possibility of ongoing employment within KDHS in a department of the graduate's choice, subject to vacancies.
This program has one intake annually: January 2026
The program offers opportunities to consolidate nursing theory and practice, supported by the Education team, clinical support nurses, nurse unit managers, and colleagues. It includes a structured 3-day orientation, 8 study days throughout the year, and ongoing educational support.
Program objectives include:
Using evidence-based knowledge to achieve quality patient outcomes
Building confidence and skills
Developing independence and teamwork skills
Enhancing decision-making and critical thinking
Supporting a fulfilling nursing career
About You
Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
Scope of practice includes medication administration via four or five routes, depending on the department
Recent clinical experience in an acute setting
Basic knowledge of patient management and information systems
Commitment to ongoing professional development
Strong interpersonal skills and team commitment
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Proficiency in computer skills and patient management systems
Ability to work across KDHS in case of clinical escalation
