The Head of Project Management is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of all large Original Equipment projects and integrated solution projects ensuring adherence to schedule, commercial outcomes in line with budget, and quality standards. The Head of Project Management leads the project management team and project engineering resources engaged in executing projects. The role will require strong collaboration with the Sales, Commercial Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance functions.

The role is responsible for the continuous improvement of processes and systems to ensure strong governance and management of projects from pre-award to contractual close. This includes pre-award support including estimation, project schedule development and commercial negotiation. The scope of projects includes integrated solutions projects with multi-discipline engineering and product lines, piping/spools/rubber works, core OE supply packages and comminution solutions. Projects are typically design and supply contracts and may include managing subcontractors including electrical engineering and manufacture.

This is a permanent role based in Artarmon, Sydney.

The key responsibilities and accountabilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Leadership, development and capacity planning of project management resources to ensure successful project execution and strong customer management / customer experience.- Developing and improving processes and systems to ensure successful project execution and timely internal and customer reporting of technical and commercial status and risks.- Leading effective interdepartmental communication and fostering collaboration across departments to enable successful project execution.- Oversight of the quality assurance program (QA) and Inspection and Test Plans (by Weir or others).- Oversight of fabrication management including review, evaluation, negotiation, estimation, quality management, and production management.- Management of site works teams, including for site surveillance, fit up measurements, installation and commissioning.- Leading contract reviews to ensure that projects are delivered to customers' needs and requirements and to a detailed project plan.- Resolution of contractual issues as required.- Reporting on key financial and performance management data.- Effective risk management, escalation and issue resolution.- Effective collaboration with supply chain including internal and intercompany manufacturing and sub vendors.- Ensuring all regulatory and compliance measures are met within Weir internal as well as external regulations.

Success within the role will be measured through:
- Safety- Operating profit- Output and cash conversion- Margin recovery- On time delivery- Projects on budget- Minimise re-work costs and quality issues- Accurate and timely reporting (weekly, monthly)- NPS (customer satisfaction)- Bachelor's degree with 10 years related project management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Demonstrable experience in developing project plans, coordinating projects, communicating changes and progress, completing projects on time and within budget, and managing project team activities.- Demonstrable experience in including team members in planning, decision-making, facilitating and process improvement.- Demonstrable experience working in a weak and / or mixed matrix structure.- PMP and post graduate education in project management, supply chain, or planning is highly desired.- Ability to read, analyse, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.- Advanced experience in the use of Microsoft Office package and SAP Project System.
