With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.

We are seeking an experienced **Safety and Training Coordinator **to join our Health, Safety and Training team on site, responsible for ensuring that Karara Mining Limited (KML) site participants are trained to legislative requirements and KML training standards.

In this role the Coordinator is accountable for promoting a positive health, safety and training culture in the workplace by working collaboratively with leaders, employees and external providers to ensure that the health, safety and training requirements are well understood and consistently applied across the organisation.

This role operates on an **8 days on and 6 days off **roster.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Conduct training and assessment for personnel, in line with KML requirements to ensure all safety and operational targets are met
- Assist the leadership team to ensure all employees are compliant with the KML site health, safety and training requirements
- Provide specialist training advice and service to all management levels within KML
- Manage the KML Learning Management System (LMS) and Intuition data base
- Ensure all employees' training records are recorded and stored in accordance with KML requirements
- Participate in incident investigations and support the tracking of preventative actions through to completion when required
- Provide specialist advice and support with regard to all relevant training legislation and KML safety policies and procedures
- Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and other health and safety training programs as required
- Support KML hygiene monitoring program by conducting atmospheric contaminant sampling and calibration of sampling equipment when required
- Complete health, safety and training audits and inspections in accordance with KML compliance monitoring program and prepare reports clearly articulating findings, non-compliances and opportunities for improvement

**Essential Qualifications and Experience;**
- Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessing (TAE) 4016
- High Risk Assessor qualifications
- Working knowledge of Learning Management System (LMS)
- Current Working Safety at Heights national certificate (within 2 years)
- Current Confined Space national certificate (within 2 years)
- Gas Test Atmospheres national certificate.
- Certificate to conduct operations with Skid Steer Loader, Telehandler, Front End Loader and Excavator
- Certificate Operate Gantry or Overhead Crane
- High Risk Work Licence for Forklift, EWP, Dogging, Rigging and Crane
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation (particularly Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and Mines Safety Inspection Regulations 1995)
- Experience in a similar role within the resource sector
- Working knowledge of Australian Quality Training Framework
- Working knowledge of Australian Skills Quality Authority Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Experience using INX (InControl, InTuition and InHealth) would be beneficial
- Australian Citizenship or hold a valid visa with permission to work
- National Police clearance
