We are seeking an experienced Events Officer to join our dynamic team and play a pivotal role in planning, coordinating, and executing a wide range of events. **Public Sector People** are partnering with a High-profile State government Department in South Brisbane to recruit an experienced AO5 Events Coordinator for a temporary contract position until the end of August with a possible extension

The purpose of the role will be to plan and manage events, conferences, workshops, expositions and education programs.

**Responsibilities will include but not be limited to**:

- **Collaborate with the Events Manager to plan and execute a variety of events, including corporate conferences, trade shows, seminars, product launches, and social gatherings.**:

- **Assist in developing event concepts, themes, and objectives, ensuring they align with the organization's goals and target audience.**:

- **Coordinate all logístical aspects of events, including venue selection, vendor management, equipment rental, catering, transportation, and accommodation.**:

- **Prepare and manage event budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost-effective solutions without compromising quality.**:

- **Assist in creating event timelines, schedules, and itineraries, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and key milestones are met.**:

- **Collaborate with the design team to develop event collateral, such as invitations, programs, signage, and promotional materials.**:

- **Liaise with clients, sponsors, speakers, exhibitors, and attendees to ensure their needs are met and provide exceptional customer service.**:

- **Oversee event registration processes, manage attendee databases, and coordinate ticketing or registration systems.**:

- **On-site event management, including set-up, registration, supervision of staff and volunteers, troubleshooting, and maintaining a smooth flow of activities.**:

- **Conduct post-event evaluations, collect feedback from attendees, and prepare reports summarizing event outcomes and recommendations for improvement.**

**About you**:

- A degree in public relations, marketing, or tertiary education in event management (mandatory)
- 2 + year experience working in a similar position (mandatory)
- Previous Government Experience in Local, state or Federal Government. (Desired)
- Previous experience in dealing with senior executive stakeholders and critical conversations.
- Self-motivated, highly organised, and able to work autonomously under limited direction.
- High attention to Detail / Excellent Stakeholder engagement skills is a must.
- Budgeting and financial management skills.
- Must be able to start within 1 weeks notice
