Overview

Procurement Officer (AO5) – Queensland State Government

Location: South Brisbane, Queensland. Parking available. 2 days per week work-from-home option.

Contract: 3 months with view to extension. Pay rate: AO5 - $66.86 per hour plus super.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tender Management: Prepare and manage the end-to-end tender process for various categories.
  • Policy & Compliance: Implement and ensure full compliance with the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
  • Supplier Relations: Work effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive pricing and maintain high performance standards.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate procurement strategies to staff and provide high-quality customer service to the Department\'s clients, including managing escalated queries.
  • Process Improvement: Contribute to the development and implementation of medium and major contracts and local procurement practices.
What we\'re looking for
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in a Government procurement role, with a strong understanding of government procurement processes.
  • Policy Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Queensland Procurement Policy and other relevant legislation.
  • Strong Communicator: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Problem Solver: A knack for negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving.
  • Organised: Exceptional time management and organisational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
