About the role
Team Leader – Water Quality is responsible for the development, implementation, and management of Lower Murray Water's Drinking Water Quality Management Plan to ensure delivery of potable water in compliance with regulatory requirements for safe drinking water.
Reporting to the Manager Water Quality & Environment, you will provide technical support to the manager and guidance to water treatment plant operators to ensure LMW provides the community with quality and safe drinking water.
Responsibilities
Contribute to a safety-first culture
Ensure operations in water treatment plants are aligned with the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan
Provide internal audit services and develop, review, and modify Drinking Water Quality Management Plan procedures, SOPs, monitoring and recording processes
Summarise, interpret, and report on water quality data and trends to monitor the effectiveness of the Drinking Water Quality Management Plan
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Water Quality performance reports
Provide guidance, support, and constructive feedback to team members to enhance their professional development
About you
Reporting to the Manager Water Quality & Environment, you will lead in the development, implementation, and management of LMW's Drinking Water Quality Risk Management Plan. You will provide technical support and guidance to water treatment plant operators to ensure LMW provides the community with quality and safe drinking water, while meeting regulatory and reporting requirements.
To be successful, you will have or be willing to develop:
Demonstrated experience in managing Drinking Water Quality Risk Management Plan and Health Based Targets
Experience in water treatment systems, processes, and technologies
Experience in developing staff and creating a positive supportive environment
Experience in developing and carrying out investigations – with focus on water treatment
Demonstrated ability to adapt to a constantly changing operating environment
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to consult and negotiate with staff, customers, and external organisations to achieve win/win outcomes
