**Position**: Disability Support Worker - Independent Support Worker to be engaged as a Sub-Contractor
**Location**: Southeastern Suburbs of Melbourne (Narre Warren Head Office)

Calming Waves Support Services (CWSS) is a leading provider of disability support services dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking compassionate and dedicated Independent Support Workers to join our team on a Sub-Contractor basis.
**About You**:
You are an independent support worker with skills and experience in some or all the following areas:
- ASD
- ADHD
- Challenging behaviours
- Conflict resolution skills in young people & confidence in setting boundaries
- Personal care, high intensity care, PEG
- Child protection
- Certificate in Education Support will be highly regarded.
- Certificate in Disability, Mental Health, Community Service-related disciplines
**Responsibilities**:
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing day-to-day support, personal care, and personal development assistance to our clients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting clients with activities of daily living (e.g., grooming, bathing, dressing).
- Supporting clients in achieving their personal development goals and fostering independence.
- Creating a safe and inclusive environment for clients.
- Monitoring and recording client progress and reporting any concerns to the supervisor.
- Maintaining open and effective communication with clients, their families, and other team members.
- Adhering to care plans and following all relevant policies and procedures.
- Ensuring the physical and emotional well-being of clients.
**Requirements**:
To be considered for an interview, you must possess the following:
- Valid Driver's Licence and reliable transportation (with comprehensive car insurance)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current National Police Check (no more than 6 months old)
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee status)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (highly desirable)
- The right to work in Australia.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work within a service that provides 24/7 care, including weekends, public holidays, sleepovers, and urgent/last minute shifts and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- All CWSS support workers are independent contractors who are responsible for managing their own tax and super obligations. You will need to get an ABN if you wish to work with us.

**Salary**: $45.00 - $53.30 per hour
Expected hours: 5 - 40 per week

- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Shift work
- Weekend availability
**Experience**:
- Disability Support Work: 1 year (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (required)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (preferred)
