As the Environmental and Trade Waste Operator based at our Brooklyn Plant you will play an integral role in the Environmental and Sustainability team supporting site based environmental programs, while ensuring compliance with all site-based regulatory and organisational requirements.

**Responsibilities of this position include (but are not limited to)**:

- Operation and monitoring of the site wastewater system including pre-screening areas, DAFs and decanters
- Complete fault finding and troubleshooting of the wastewater system as required
- Complete regular performance testing of equipment and chemicals
- Maintain daily operation records
- Managing odour control systems, storm water and solid wastes
- Liaise with external contractors and suppliers as required
- Other responsibilities that may come up from time to time

**About You**:

- Experience and/or knowledge of industrial wastewater treatment is preferred
- Sound understanding of regulatory framework related to environment science related discipline desirable
- Manufacturing or Agriculture industry experience preferred but not essential
- Basic ability to use computer-based monitoring/controls systems (i.e. SCADA);
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to function in an abattoir environment in a hands-on role
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (desirable not essential) - Training to achieve Certificate available
