**About the role**:
In this role, the Principal Planning Officer will play a leading role in the development of clinical service plans in each of the new Local Health Service Networks, working with the LHSNs in the undertaking service need evaluations.

The Principal Planning Officer will utilise fit for purpose and fit for cohort health service planning methodologies to generate representative and credible qualitative insights, that together with other information such as role delineation, service sustainability and clinical capability, can be synthesised into evidence that provides the basis for actionable recommendations that align with government priorities and budgetary constraints

**About you**:
**Are you**:

- Experienced in health service planning and passionate about the design and function of the Victorian public health system?
- An experienced strategic and systems thinker who can grasp complex concepts quickly and work across multiple projects?
- Passionate about delivering reform and health service system design and improvement?
- The successful applicant will have a firm understanding of the Victorian health system and the provision of public health services
- a demonstrated ability to turn policy and ideas into workable health service delivery solutions in a complex and sensitive government environment

**Qualifications / Specialist Expertise**

**Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification in a health profession, clinical service delivery, health policy or other relevant qualification would be desirable.

**Specialist Expertise**
- Experience in using health data to understand service demand and inform strategic investment decisions
- Extensive knowledge of the Victorian public health system
- Experience working with acute, ambulatory and/or community public health sectors is desirable
- Health service strategic and/or entity service planning would be an advantage
- Experience of working within the Victorian Government would be an advantage.
