Expression of Interest for sessional teaching and marking in the fields of Microbiology and Immunology in the Biosciences and Food Technology discipline of the STEM College - School of Science
- Based onsite in Melbourne - Bundoora and/or City Campus
- Casual hours commencing in Semester 1 2025
- Contribute to a culture of quality learning and teaching in the Discipline of Biosciences and Food Technology
- The volume, nature and availability of sessional teaching will vary based on the needs of the school including course offerings, timetabling and student demand._

About the Role and Your Responsibilities

The School of Science is recognised for its experiential learning practices, customised programs, high-tech facilities, and excellence in research. Biosciences and Food Technology at RMIT actively engages with industry to ensure our programs meet the needs of this rapidly expanding field and our graduates are in high demand.

The volume, nature and availability of sessional teaching will vary based on the needs of the Discipline including course offerings, timetabling and student demand.

Essential criteria
- Previous experience with biosciences and/or biotechnology related teaching related teaching particularly a First Year Microbiology and Immunology practical class, which includes technical skills in
- Basic Microbiology
- Immunology (serology)
- Diagnostic Microbiology
- Research Methods
- Evidence of teaching ability and the capacity to engage students in an enthusiastic, concise, engaging, and informative manner, as guided by the course coordinator.
- Demonstrable knowledge, technical skills and safety practices of requisite content for course/s taught within Bioscience and Food Technology programs.
- Demonstrable ability to grade student assessment and provide appropriate feedback.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including both written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrable punctuality and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Minimum Qualification requirements for teaching:

- Minimum Honours or above for Bachelor level courses.
- Minimum PhD for Master's level courses.
