Our client is an international logistics business with a strong history supporting the supply chain network here in Australia. They are experiencing a period of rapid growth and are seeking a Freight Operations professional with strong sea freight importing background to join their Head Office team.

**The Role**:
The Freight Operations Officer is responsible for managing import sea freight shipments in a timely manner to ensure shipments are completed by vessel or airline arrival.

Responsibilities include:

- Management of shipments for import air and/or sea freight;
- Tracking arrival of shipments
- Lodging Sea Cargo within industry standard timeframes
- Chasing documentation from customer and/or overseas offices
- Timely invoicing of shipments;
- Provide service excellence to customers to ensure all customer requirements are met
- Adherence to internal and external SOP's
- Support the Customer Service team

**About You**:

- Sea Freight import experience is essential
- Cargowise experience is essential
- Demonstrated computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook (to an intermediate level)
- Demonstrated freight forwarding operations skills in both air and sea freight forwarding functions
- Import (must) & Export (desirable) freight forwarding operations (full job turnkey functions)
- Knowledge/awareness of 3PL warehousing services and road transport services
- Liaison and coordination management with overseas branch offices / agency partners / customer's overseas suppliers / shipping line providers
- Knowledge and use of Customs ICS and other industry relevant web solutions, eg. 1-Stop, NHVRA, etc.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication and a desire to learn.
- Clear understanding of INCO terms required
