Our Essilor production team at Silverwater is dedicated to the manufacturing of high-quality lenses for glasses, carefully crafting each individual order with precision and attention to detail to ensure it meets the exact specifications and unique requirements of each patient.
We currently have a casual position available for either an experienced Optical Mechanic or Optical Worker with expertise in Edging and Mounting processes.
This role would also be suitable for someone with strong fine motor skills and keen attention to detail, who is eager to train and develop into a skilled Optical Mechanic.
Key Responsibilities: Is responsible for the health & safety of themselves and collaborators by respecting safety regulations and staying vigilant at all times.
Executes production in line with defined group standards: operates machines as described in SOPs, asks supervisors for help when needed and respects organisations and production flow rules.
Contributes to labs performance with regards to quality, costs and service by being aware of their results compared to expected ones.
Optimises required machines' capacities by knowing expected throughputs of machine and contributes to actions to improve use of installed machines.
Follows staffing plans and adjustments and is willing to develop their competencies on various work spots.
Communicates their motivation and needs, follows operations objectives, shows a proactive behaviour regarding training, and gives feedback on exceptional peer's behaviours.
Is attentive to production machines and assets by understanding how operated machines work and by maintaining them to make sure they function properly.
Other critical requirements for the position are: Experience in manual handling (role required to safely lift up to 20kg on occasion) Fine motor skills and ability to handle individual lenses carefully throughout the Rx process Highly organised with ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously High attention to detail Reliable, punctual, proactive, enthusiastic
