**About the Role**
The Policy, Economics and Influence team has a track record of championing public policy that makes WA the best place to live and do business, working closely with State and Federal Governments and other Industry bodies.
You will be responsible for evaluating public policies for their impacts on businesses and the broader economy, and to recommend CCIWA's policy position. Success in the role further involves the successful facilitation of policy discussions with members, and delivery of strong written submissions to lobby the government for positive change supporting businesses and the broader economy.
In addition to contributing to policy work, you will have the opportunity to get involved in media and campaigns strategy, as well as fast-tracking your communication skills through public presentations.
You will report directly to the Chief Economist, Director Policy, Membership, Campaigns.
Key tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Provide strategic oversight of the development and maintenance of CCIWA's policy agenda, consistent with CCIWA's strategic priority to foster WA as a great place to live and do business
- Planning and coordination of external communications about CCIWA's policy agenda, to demonstrate the value of CCIWA's work to members and the general public.
- Manage the work and development of the policy team
- Collaborate and liaise effectively with other parts of the organisation, including ensuring the policy team plays a role when required to attract and retain members
- Have strategic oversight of member input into policy issues, ensuring members gain value from their member packages through involvement in policy. This includes through roundtables, working groups and other contemporary ways of engaging with members.
- Represent CCIWA in committees, forums, meetings, public presentations, as required.
- Build and maintain constructive relationships with government, industry groups and other external stakeholders with a view to influencing policy outcomes.

You will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Politics, Law or equivalent
- Ability to evaluate public policies for their impacts on business and the broader economy, and to recommend the position that CCIWA should take.
- Proven experience in developing and delivering policy agenda items and comprehensive, on-point submissions
- Ability to manage projects
- Excellent communication skills with both internal and external parties
- Outstanding written skills
- The ability to think strategically and build strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders that support positive policy outcomes
- High-level of attention to detail, organisation and prioritisation
- Police Clearance.
