
Risk Management and Policy Governance Professional

The Department of Education is seeking a skilled professional to support the implementation and continuous improvement of risk management and business continuity frameworks. The successful candidate will contribute to enterprise risk reporting, assist with data analysis and risk reporting, and build capability in risk management and resilience across the Department.
Key Responsibilities- Risk Management Specialist (Level 5)
- Support the development and implementation of risk management strategies and frameworks.
- Contribute to the design and maintenance of risk systems and documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and assess risks, and develop mitigation plans.
- Assist with the review and administration of policy governance frameworks, delegation instruments, and CEO Instructions.
- Support alignment with legislative requirements and strategic objectives by maintaining governance systems, tracking policy enquiries, and facilitating compliance processes.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the Department to provide advice, assist with policy development and review, and support effective operation of policy governance mechanisms and approvals.
- Support the delivery of internal audit and assurance programs, preparing papers and minutes for the Audit and Risk Committee.
- Assist with managing internal audit contractors, contributing to audit frameworks, policies, and reporting.
- Provide administrative and organisational support, prepare executive-level reports and briefings, track system-wide audit recommendations, and work closely with the Audit and Risk Committee and other stakeholders.
