Seeking skilled Natural Areas/Envrionmental officer for a reputable North Sunshine Coast client

Our client is a reputable employer of choice in the SEQ region offering a 9-day fortnight roster and full-time hours.

**Your new role**
- Conduct the daily activities of the Bushland Management Team.
- Remove unwanted weeds within bushland reserves by various approved means including physical, mechanical, chemical and thermal methods.
- Create and maintain chemical distribution records as per the Agricultural Chemical Distribution Control Act 1966.
- Participate in public relations matters relating to bushland reserve management.
- Perform other activities relevant to the client's bushland management plans.
- Conduct pre-start and pre-operation checks when operating small plant, vehicles or weed control equipment.
- Maintain and clean hand tools, plant and equipment used by the Bushland Management gang and volunteers.
- Participate as required in the after-hours duty roster and provide assistance during emergencies such as floods and bushfires etc.
- Such other relevant duties as required from time to time which would generally fall within the scope of this position.

**What you'll need to succeed**
- Experience or be able to rapidly become familiar with road infrastructure and bushland reserves within the region.
- The ability to recognise declared and environmental weeds and pest animals and be familiar with products and treatments for their control.
- Demonstrated knowledge of plant health and maintenance.
- Demonstrated knowledge to carry out natural area restoration.
- Practical experience in operating and maintaining small plant and equipment (e.g. hand tools, chainsaws etc.)
- Certificate III in Conservation and Land Management or relevant experience.
- Unrestricted Commercial Operators Licence - Agricultural Chemical Distribution (ACDC) Act 1966 Regulation 1998 (or attainment within two months of appointment).
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (or attainment within two months of appointment).
- Current C class driver's licence and extensive experience with 4-wheel drive vehicles.
