Unique charity based in Sydney which raises funds for various hospitals, healthcare services and world-class medical research.

**About the Role**:
The Marketing and Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and promoting creative content that demonstrates the work of the organisation and their beneficiaries.

The Marketing and Communications Specialist will also assist the Director of Marketing and Communications in planning the communications strategy, with the aim of positioning the organisation as a charity of choice within our community. Under guidance from the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will also support the organisation's philanthropic fundraising portfolios including twice-yearly appeals, community fundraising initiatives, major gift activities, grants/foundations promotion and bequest programs.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Coordinate, develop and support the design and delivery of collateral (including merchandise, brochures, flyers and other materials)
- Maintain a 12-month content calendar that engages audiences with identified content themes
- Interview patients and clinicians to develop content for communication materials (including newsletters, updates and other marketing)
- Create and edit videos using Adobe Premier Rush or Premier Pro
- Create social tiles, brochure and flyers using InDesign or Canva
- Create and maintain a register of impact stories from various stakeholders in collaboration with fundraising staff (including donors, community fundraisers, board members, clinicians, researchers, etc)
- Update and maintain an up-to-date library of photography, videography and stories
- Liaise, coordinate and/or develop content for external/partner newsletters, websites and social media channels, delivering to editorial deadlines
- Coordinate, and support the delivery of the Appeals Program (including management of mail house relationship and overall project management for direct mail, eDM and social media)
- Assist in the design and creation of fundraising proposals, impact reports and case of support documentation for fundraising portfolios
- Assist the Director of Marketing and Communications in the design, layout and sourcing of imagery for the product of impact and annual reports
- Act as a custodian of the brand, ensuring guidelines are followed internally and by third parties
- Content development and responsibility for posting on social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Staying up to date with beneficiary social media content and re-posting/sharing

**Skills & Experience**
- Previous experience working in a communications or marketing role preferably in a NFP
- Ability to follow through with tasks, be proactive and take ownership of projects
- Excellent time management, administrative and organisational skills with the ability to plan workload, prioritise tasks, meet deadlines, report back and adapt to changing circumstances
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to establish collaborative and sustainable relationships
- Ability to understand our audiences, develop customer journeys and tailor messages to audiences and channels of choice
- Ability to work collaboratively and with a high level of flexibility both in a team and independently, in an environment with changing demands
- High level of attention to detail in grammar, writing and proofreading
- Experience of organising digital content, good understanding of the principles of developing engaging content and experience of running social media campaigns
- Ability to effectively plan and project manage timelines, budgets and tasks related to the delivery of communications collateral
- Experience creating collateral, assets and videos using design programs such as Canva, InDesign, Premier Pro
- Experience working with a CRM database (like ThankQ, Raiser's Edge, Salesforce)
- A combination of the personal sensitivity, maturity of approach and that is needed when working with prospective donors
- Self-confidence, enthusiasm and a "can do" attitude.
