**Position Overview**

You will also be responsible for promoting architectural principles.

**Key Accountabilities**:

- Lead delivery teams using agile, Lean, and Continuous Delivery practices and methods
- Lead and build the technical skill and effectiveness of the development team by understanding and actively promoting Tyro Engineering and Architectural principles
- Help facilitate interactions within your team, across your tribe and more broadly with other teams within Tyro
- Provide guidance and coaching on what to learn, best practices to use and be as self-sufficient and proactive as possible
- Provide technical leadership within the team including (technical vision, push boundaries, questioning the norms, take risks to achieve innovation, improve on existing code)
- Remove roadblocks and encourage continuous improvement so that your team(s) can deliver as effectively as possible
- Focus on and balance the needs of the customer, your team(s) and the Tyro business
- Empower your team(s) and ensure a clear path to make it easier for them to develop a product that customers will love
- Coach and mentor your team to be better versions of themselves
- Manage multiple work streams and forge positive relationships with multiple stakeholder groups
- Keep both the long and short term in view, removing bottlenecks in current workflow and preparing for longer term work so that it is ready once the team(s) get to it
- Encourage innovation and take managed risks by implementing incremental approaches to delivery
- Work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment and to lead from the front with enthusiasm and energy
- Ensure openness, transparency and visibility at all times
- Foster initiatives in speed of delivery, customer focus, creativity and experimentation
- Set examples for having high ownership, enthusiasm and a can-do mentality to the team
- Balance the needs of product/service features with technical vision and operational needs
- Align vision with our goals for technology, delivery, quality, customer focus and simplicity

**Desired Qualifications and Experience**:

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management or other related field or equivalent work experience
- Experience leading the delivery of software development projects with the latest technologies
- Significant people and team management experience
- Strong communication and leadership abilities, with the ability to influence the engineering teams towards a united vision and goal
