Due to continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a **Payroll Officer** to join our awesome (even if we do say so ourselves) support office team on a **part-time basis**.
**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be an integral part of our dynamic and high-performing finance team. In this fast-paced role, you will be responsible for processing our fortnightly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
This is a **part-time, permanent role** based at our support office in Bundall, working **24 hours per week** across **Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday**with possibility to become a full-time position in future.
**Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to**:
- Ensuring timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, superannuation, and deductions.
- Reviewing payroll variances and collaborating with clinics and HR to resolve discrepancies.
- Assisting with payroll projects, time and attendance systems, and process improvements.
- Preparing detailed payroll reports, providing commentary on variances.
- Maintaining accurate employee records in accordance with legislative requirements.
- Providing general payroll support to other departments as needed.
**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A sound understanding of the **Animal Care and Veterinary Services Award [MA000118]** (preferred but not essential) or modern awards.
- In-depth knowledge and experience of payroll calculation and processing, especially in a multi-site environment.
- Proficiency in payroll and time & attendance software (Payroll Metrics, Keypay, Human Force).
- New Zealand payroll experience will be highly regarded, but not essential.
- Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, and workbook management).
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Previous experience supporting senior managers on payroll matters.
