Payroll Officer

The Payroll Officer position will be responsible for fortnightly payroll processing, coordination with external payroll service providers, and assisting the Director of Finance in managing payroll activities.
Payroll
Payroll administration processing and reconciliation for 40+ full time, part time, casual and contract employees using ADP
Processing timesheets and payroll forms on a timely manner each fortnight and maintaining accurate payroll records on salary packaging, allowances/deductions, commencements, terminations, leave and other relevant information
Guarantee successful and accurate completion of fortnightly payroll processing and ensuring all staff are correctly paid by the agreed date
Provide WorkCover and Superannuation administration to ensure payroll processes are compliant with relevant legislation
Process PAYG monthly and statutory payments and process payroll end of month procedures; including data entry of journal entries
Updating and maintaining payroll records and files.
Liaising with staff and management on payroll related queries
Maintaining leave, sick and overtime reports
Ensure compliance with the awards/contracts and relevant legislation
Preparation and processing variable data including novated lease payments
Distribution of fortnightly commission calculations provided to staff and including variable calculations in payroll cycle
Checking system balances for Annual leave, calculating, and maintaining time in lieu (TIL) leave balance records.
Understanding of industry awards (HIGA legislation) preferred
Projects
Assist in the streaming of payroll processes with new system and data integrity
Any other duties as and when assigned from time to time
