**Role overview**

The Credit Assurance & Verifications specialist supports the Senior Manager and GM Credit Risk to maintain high credit & lodgement quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements across Residential & Commercial Mortgage portfolios. This will be done by monthly hindsight reviews, collaborating with IT to ensure any changes to credit processing is within approved guidelines, targeted segment deep dives where warranted, & assisting other departments in information preparation for external audits.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Review a sample of files originated each month in each new business warehouse to a defined set of metrics.
- Identify opportunities and weaknesses in credit policy and processes through the periodic reviews, ensuring alignment with responsible lending obligations (RG 209), anti-money laundering (AML/CTF), and privacy requirements.
- Address adverse lodgement quality and performance trends by recommending improvements in credit risk assessment, affordability verification, and loan suitability assessments to the Senior Manager & GM Credit Risk
- Work with the Senior Manager & Heads of Credit to define solutions (including team member training, system and process changes) to support the maintenance of both a high lodgement quality and acceptable credit quality that is aligned to Thinktanks Credit Guidelines.
- Support the preparation of files to allow Thinktank's funders, external auditors & other external counterparties to complete their own periodic reviews.

**About you**
- 3+ years' experience in credit underwriting for Residential or Commercial Mortgages
- 1-2 year of experience in a Credit/Quality assurance role within Residential or Commercial Mortgages
- Well-developed relationship management and communication skills. This includes a proven ability to work with Credit underwriters and leaders to support the identification, constructive challenge and alignment on review findings
- Analytical skills and high degree of numeracy
