Librarian - Mobile Library Services

OverviewBlacktown City Libraries are seeking an enthusiastic library professional to engage with the community through the services of the Mobile Library on a permanent, full-time basis.
The job includes the development of library services through the mobile library; this includes organising site visits, and events that promote the diverse services of Blacktown City Libraries.ResponsibilitiesParticipating in the Library team effort of providing excellent customer service, through the mobile library and other tier 3 library servicesManaging and overseeing the day to day operations of the Mobile Library in a professional and welcoming mannerResponsible for the delivery of high-quality customer and library services such as lending, information, reader services, programs, technology and equipment, and collection arrangementsSupervising, leading and developing staff in the delivery of customer focussed, innovative and contemporary public library services.Essential qualifications and experienceDegree in Library and Information Science or equivalent as recognised by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA)Eligibility for professional membership of ALIASuitable library experienceCurrent class C driver's licenceWorking with Children Check (WWCC)Experience in community engagement, communications and marketingProven excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenDemonstrated ability to work within a team environment and independentlyDemonstrated skills in team leadership and staff supervisionWell-developed problem-solving skillsProven excellent computer skills, including experience in the use of online resources, library management systems and library appsDesirableDemonstrated ability to initiate, plan, deliver and evaluate programsExperience developing and delivering innovative community partnerships and evaluating outcomesKnowledge and understanding of key stakeholders in the community, including government, non-government and business and a demonstrated ability to work with these stakeholdersExperience with stakeholder liaisonTraining skills and experienceExperience in library promotional activitiesFirst aid certificationAbility to speak a community languageRemuneration and BenefitsThe salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with Blacktown City Council's Enterprise Agreement.Entry level for this position starts at $1,563.45 per week35-hour working weekOpportunity to participate in Council's flextime arrangementEmployee benefits such as leave entitlements (where applicable), 12% employer contribution payable to your nominated superannuation fund, Fitness Passport, gym membership discounts, and social clubs.This position has been identified as child related work, in accordance with the Child Protection (Working with Children) Regulation 2013.
