Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced
**EL1 Policy and Legislation Development Officers** who can support the work of their project over the next 12 months.

**About the role**:

- Leading the development of legislation, particularly related to the current levy recipient body legislation
- Reviewing existing legislation and historical levies policies to shape the new legislative framework
- Leading research and analysis to inform policy papers and consultation material managing an industry consultation process and feeding industry feedback into the legislative drafting process
- Liaising with other policy, regulatory and operational areas in the department and across government

**Ideally, you will have**:

- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team, including with remote workers
- Ability to research and analyse complex information to inform decisions and manage competing priorities
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills
- Ability to provide sound advice on complex matters to the executive and minister
- Experience working in a legal policy/legislative reform role including research, preparing drafting instructions, policy papers, briefing material and analytical reporting
- Experience in policy processes, ideally with experience in industry consultation
