**Job Title: Subject Matter Expert - Department of Veteran Affairs (SME - DVA)**

**Division/Business Unit/Team: Consulting**

**Reporting to: Managing Director**

**Location: South Melbourne, VIC (onsite or hybrid)**

**Position Description**

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**- **Consultation & Advisory**:
- Provide expert guidance to clients on the DVA provider approval process and funding arrangements.
- Conduct gap analyses and provide tailored recommendations to ensure clients meet DVA service and quality standards.
- Offer strategic advice on business structuring, service delivery models, and operational planning for DVA-approved providers.- **Compliance & Policy Development**:
- Develop and review policies, procedures, and governance frameworks to ensure compliance with DVA guidelines and Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Develop training manuals and compliance guides for clients.
- Assist with internal audits, risk assessments, and non-conformity resolutions for clients.- **Project Delivery**: Oversee the execution of clients' projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.- **Business Development**: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the DVA sector, focusing on expanding the client base and enhancing market presence.- **Client Relationship Management**: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty through tailored consulting services.- **Strategic Planning**: Collaborate with clients to develop and implement effective business strategies that address their specific needs and operational challenges.
- **Market Awareness**: Stay informed about industry trends, regulations, and best practices, sharing relevant knowledge with clients to help them stay competitive.- **Reporting and Analysis**: Prepare reports on client performance, market conditions, and growth opportunities for presentation to senior leadership.

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS**
- Experience:
- Experience in DVA-related services. Understanding of DVA provider requirements, funding structures, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with business consulting or advisory services.
- Experience in overseeing project execution and managing client engagements.
- Ability to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and provide clear, actionable advice to clients.
- Experience preparing policy documents, reports, and client advisory materials.
- Business Acumen: Proven ability in business development and client relationship management, with a strategic approach to fostering growth.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders effectively.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and provide actionable recommendations.
- Self-motivated: Ability to work independently and proactively identify opportunities for improvement and growth within client operations.
