**About the Position**:
The Litter Prevention Champion will work with the community to increase awareness of how to prevent litter, and work across teams to support a coordinated approach. To achieve this, the role will:
Engage and education the community improve understanding and behaviour and to prevent litter and illegal dumping, using a behaviour change framework

Develop and deliver a strategic plan to improve waste management at rooming houses and rental properties

Lead enforcement on litter and dumping when education does not result in behaviour change

Coordinate a Litter prevention taskforce, and build the capacity of the other authorised officers

Deliver Litter Prevention outcomes, coordinate Councils Litter Prevention actions and build Council's profile in Litter Prevention

Focus on the residential area surrounding Monash University Clayton campus as a priority

**About you**:
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the best practice approach to preventing litter;
A good understanding of local government regulations, statutory requirements, investigation, resolution and enforcement processes;
A good understanding of the complex litter challenges within a Local Government environment and proven ability to develop innovative solutions

Ability in managing time, setting priorities, achieving goals and meeting deadlines

A high level of self-motivation, initiative, problem solving and analytical skills

Commitment to represent Council in court and at events on weekends and to work irregular hours, and overtime

Victorian Drivers Licence

**Requirement of the position**:
Employee Working with Children's Check

Satisfactory National Police Check; and

Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
