The Resilience and Recovery Division provides leadership, coordination, direction and advice for the development and management of disaster resilience and recovery planning, policy, funding, and supports its operational implementation prior to and post disaster events.
The Recovery team within this division are responsible for developing the recovery capability of Queensland communities, helping them prepare for and recover from disasters.
As Principal Resilience and Recovery Officer, your role is responsible for providing support for local governments and state agencies on recovery and resilience planning in preparation for and following disaster events. You will be responsible for effectively engaging, collaborating and partnering with key stakeholders to identify the immediate and future needs of the community, as well as supporting community-led recovery and resilience programs and projects.
- Guide QRA's 'best practice' approach to disaster recovery and resilience, to ensure QRA's ongoing disaster recovery practices are in line with the governance and objectives of the relevant Queensland disaster recovery and resilience legislation and policy frameworks.
- Provide expert advice on strategic operational matters and project delivery mechanisms in relation to recovery and resilience.
- Provide leadership and direction in the planning and implementation of the Divisional priorities, projects, and policy initiatives.

Whilst not mandatory, appropriate tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or experience in disaster management is highly desirable. Due to the nature of the role a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or demonstrated ability and commitment to acquire certification is required.
