We're seeking a Senior Legal Counsel to join our in-house legal team and work closely with our Chief Legal Officer.
This is your opportunity to become a trusted advisor across all areas of our business - from commercial and finance to exploration and governance.
What You'll Do As Senior Legal Counsel, you'll play a pivotal role in safeguarding Westgold's interests by providing expert legal and regulatory advice across the business.
You'll lead the drafting and negotiation of a broad spectrum of commercial agreements - from procurement and mining services to banking and confidentiality contracts.
Your strategic counsel will support high-impact decisions on commercial, contractual, and corporations law matters, while your collaboration with senior leadership will help shape key operational initiatives.
You'll also contribute to corporate governance for our dual ASX/TSX listing and manage legal disputes and external counsel with efficiency and fiscal discipline.
What You'll Bring 5–12 years post-admission experience (PAE), ideally within mining, resources, construction, or engineering.
Bachelor of Laws and admission to the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory, with a current practising certificate.
Strong communication skills and the ability to simplify complex legal concepts for non-legal stakeholders.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to influence across all levels of the business.
Critical thinking, sound judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
