Gippsland Southern Health Service (GSHS) is a major provider of healthcare in the South Gippsland Shire. GSHS offers a broad range of services that meet the needs of a diverse and sparsely populated area. With two main acute facilities based at Leongatha and Korumburra, GSHS offers a broad range of specialist, general, acute, subacute, ambulatory, residential aged care and community services.**About the Role**
- The Consumer Engagement and Experience Coordinator is an integral position within the Quality team at Gippsland Southern Health Service.- GSHS is undergoing a transformation in the coming years where associated action plans must support patient experience including responding to individual needs and preferences and engaging patients, families and friends in organisational service planning, design and governance. The overarching focus of the position is to support GSHS to provide the best possible patient experience and to increase engagement in our community with the health service in positive and financially viable ways.**About You**
You will have formal qualifications in Health, Communications, or Health Promotion and be a passionate advocate for community groups, such as the ATSI community to ensure representation and provision of high-quality health care sensitive to their individual need. You will have e**Benefits**

**To be successful in this role, you will**:
- Coordinate projects which support the organisations commitment to community and consumer participation and improved patient experience.
- Coordinate strategies, monitor progress and compliance with National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards, Standard 2 - Partnering with Consumers and relevant actions related to Standard 1 - Clinical Governance. Support ongoing compliance with other relevant external accreditation standards and reporting requirements.
- Coordinate and collaborate internally and externally to develop and monitor organisational actions supporting consumer and community participation and patient experience for diverse groups. These include but are not limited to:
- Cultural responsiveness
- Disability
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health
- LGBTQIA+
- VALD
- Facilitate the further development of GSHS' understanding of and links with its communities, in particular those groups that may have difficulty representing themselves because of marginalisation or other disadvantage.
- In conjunction with Educators identify appropriate training opportunities from trends within quality, complaints, and experience data.
- Accountable for GSHS patient information framework to support the best possible patient experience and ongoing compliance with NSQHS accreditation standards, health literacy policies and other external standards and reporting requirements.
