About the role:
The Customer Operations Engineer is required to work within our Data Centre's as part of a rotating shift team. They are tasked with providing our customers with the highest standards of technical service as required and we are recruiting for 2 roles both based at Derrimut.

Customer Operations are also responsible for providing first level support for facility alarms and issues and in performing housekeeping duties to ensure that the Data Centre is maintained in a first class condition. After receiving orientation and onboarding training you will become a valued member of the Equinix team and will become part of a 24x7 shift roster to ensure the customer success at all times.

Applicants may come from a variety of backgrounds but ideally with a passion, education or work experience within the IT industry. The Customer Operations team play a key role in the success of our daily operations and offers a great work/life balance due to the shift patterns and are entitled 5 weeks annual leave.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide Technical Support services including: Data Centre operations, equipment maintenance and service provisioning.
- Support Disaster Recovery drills and invocations.
- Install and de-install of customer cross-connections.
- Perform Smart Hands and tape backup Services.
- Warehouse and vendor management.
- Reporting facility alarm, outside hours monitoring of critical facilties
- Incident handling, problem troubleshooting and escalation to upper tier.
- Supervise vendors for work within data center premises.
- Maintain accurate records, document all problems, and prepare reports.
- Exhibit quality workmanship on all work.
- Maintain the cleanliness of data center

Qualifications, Skills and Attribute
- Diploma or Certificate in Networking, IT or related field (ideal)
- High level computer skills including use of Microsoft Office suite of products
- Has a 'can do' attitude and approach to work
- Be able to follow processes efficiently and effectively
- Strong attention to detail and customer service focus
- Ability to learn fast and work autonomously and in a team
