About the role
This position will be responsible for providing support services for a patient centred health care environment including cleaning, linen services, food services assistant, removal of waste, transportation of patients, equipment and materials around the hospital. This position will require the ability to achieve the required quality and safety standards that are set within the department initiative and sound judgement, exercise a degree of autonomy and to work with and provide support for supervisor operational service. This position is on a rotating roster with various day shifts including weekends.
About You
- An understanding and appreciation of the need for client/patient and facility confidentiality and privacy to be observed at all times.
- Ability to problem solve and use initiative, work with a minimum of supervision, communicate and work cooperatively with other members of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Good communication skills in relation to other staff, clients and visitors.
- Ability to work in porterage, cleaning, waste and laundry services.
- Ability to acquire knowledge of hygiene standards, infection control practices, food safety standards, workplace health and safety, total quality management, equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination practices and behaviour as applied in the working environment.

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
