**ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY**:
The Coordinator Property Transactions is a new role at Cumberland City Council following the recent creation of Council's Governance and Risk Directorate. You will be responsible for providing advice and coordination to deliver Council's Property Strategy and other priority projects.
Reporting to the Manager Property Transactions, this role will work closely in partnership with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure that property transactions and all associated administrative processes and procedures are undertaken in a manner underpinned by good governance and in compliance with legislative requirements. You will also be responsible for providing advice and coordinating the delivery of Council's Property Strategy and other priority projects.
This role will initially be open to our internal workforce exclusively for one week.
The successful applicant will require:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in asset/property management or a related discipline, and/or extensive experience in a similar role
- Class C drivers licence
- Proven experience in the negotiation of leases, licences and other tenure documentation including procurement and contract supervision
- Demonstrated experience in areas of local government property disposal acquisitions including easements and road closures
- Experience with local government real estate transactions including, but not limited to road closures, land transfers, easements and rights of way
- Excellent written communication skills including the ability to prepare correspondence, reports and submissions
- Sound verbal communication skills and proven ability to work productively as a member of a team and contribute to team goals
- Understanding of legal framework when negotiating lease, licences and easement agreements and road closures
- Proven research, organisational, negotiation, interpersonal, communication and reporting skills
- Experience in Microsoft Office suite, computerised records and databases
- Proactive approach to problem-solving with strong decision-making capabilities
- Superior communication skills including effective report writing, presentations, facilitation, public relations and conflict resolutions skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and capacity to coordinate a number of complex projects concurrently

**Position information**: This is a permanent, full-time position, working a 70 hour fortnight, with access to Council's 9 day fortnight Accrued Day Off (ADO) arrangement.
This role is predominantly located at Council's Merrylands office, with occasional travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council's work locations.
**Salary information**: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 13 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,886.23 to $2,169.16 per week plus 10.5% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
