About the role
The After-Hours Coordinator provides leadership and management for Hospital Operations and Nursing / Midwifery, focusing on resource management, patient flow, emergency management, and safe practice, while maintaining a customer focus and ensuring the hospital's safe, efficient, and effective functioning. They escalate issues and liaise with the Executive On-Call as needed.
The Coordinator supports Directors of Nursing / Midwifery to uphold professional standards, codes, and behaviors as legislated by NMBA, AHPRA, and Eastern Health Policies/Values.
The team works across two sites, each with a coordinator per shift. The sites support diverse patient cases including Sub-acute GEM & Rehab, Aged Psychiatry, Dialysis, Palliative Care, and Residential Aged Care, along with some Care@Home teams for patient escalation.
About you
Experience and understanding of Patient Access and Flow processes
Experience in resource management and staffing allocations
Current Nursing registration with AHPRA
Post Graduate qualifications or working towards them
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Commitment to high-quality care
Ability to work within a diverse team
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations per the Australian Immunisation Handbook. Seasonal influenza vaccination is mandatory, and employment is contingent on up-to-date vaccination.
