**About the Role**

The Human Factors Engineering Manager is leading a team of Human Factors Specialists and responsible for estimating, planning and executing Human Factors Engineering Programs for RDA's product development and through life support activities. Assurance. Reporting. Scope Management. Hiring. Task allocation, monitoring.
- As the
- **Human Factors Engineering Manager**, you can anticipate some of your day-to-day tasks to include:

- Plan and estimate Human Factors Engineering activities for new bids and for regular updates of running projects;
- Allocate HFE tasks to team members, monitor execution, manage scope, remove blockers and provide advice and support where needed;
- Participate in and contribute to reporting and status meetings;
- Guide and/or conduct human factors analyses, studies, experiments, simulations, tests, and demonstrations and summarise the results into design recommendations and requirements;
- Review and/or create and present Human Factors project deliverables according with contractual requirements;
- Guide design teams to achieve Human Factors compliant solutions;
- Further develop team capabilities, e.g. through training or mentoring;
- Further develop and improve RDA's Human Factors Engineering process;
- Assure quality and timeliness of deliverables of Human Factors Engineering team; and
- Contribute to resource planning and hiring activities.

The experience and skillset best suited to this role includes:

- Degree in Psychology or Ergonomics;
- Experience in leading teams;
- Proven experience Human Factors experience in a major Defence Program;
- Knowledge and proven experience with Human Factors in projects;
- Ability to travel interstate and internationally when required; and
- Must hold or be eligible to obtain an Australian Government Security Clearance.

Desirable:

- Relevant Human Factors experience in a major Defence Program; and
- Knowledge of DEF-STAN 250 and MIL-STD-1472G.
