Claims Specialist

**Claims Specialist - Short Tail, Specialty & Major Accounts | VIC & NSW**

Allianz Commercial's Specialty & Major Accounts division is looking for a claims specialist to join our Short Tail Claims team in Australia. The Short Tail claims portfolio includes property, energy, construction, and entertainment.

**You'll be responsible for**
- Manage a portfolio of commercial claims across multiple jurisdictions, adhering to authority levels within the Short Tail business lines.
- Develop relationships with customers and brokers and contribute to the delivery of a superior claims service which puts the best interests of our customers at the heart of everything we do.
- Engage with global "large loss" teams as per authority procedures and uphold a "no surprises" reporting philosophy.
- Monitor assigned claims portfolio to ensure claims are handled efficiently, appropriately, and in compliance with regulations.
- Report and present loss and claims information to stakeholders, maximize recoverable income through proactive reinsurance engagement, and manage external service providers.
- Support business development initiatives and keep abreast of claims and industry trends.

**About you**
- Require two years industry experience with a sound knowledge of insurance claims, and the processes required to take claims from notification through to settlement.
- Need to have excellent communication skills, with strong analytical, strategic, technical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Should have negotiation and investigation skills, with a capacity to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage tasks and resources.
- Current knowledge of insurance guidelines, legislation, and regulations, demonstrate proficiency with relevant systems and tools, and uphold a growth mindset with a commitment to ethics and professionalism.
