We are seeking an experienced Claims Specialist to join our team in the role of Claims Management. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a portfolio of general insurance claims, with a focus on liability claims.
This is a challenging opportunity for a professional with strong analytical and communication skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in managing end-to-end claims processes, including accurate reserving, claims investigation, and negotiation with third parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a mixed portfolio of primarily Public Liability, Professional Indemnity and Property claims;
- Conduct thorough analysis and investigation of claims to determine entitlements and negotiate settlements;
- Build and maintain relationships with clients and internal stakeholders;
- Develop and implement effective claims management strategies to minimize costs and maximize outcomes;
- Collaborate with external reinsurers and brokers to ensure seamless claim resolution.
Requirements:
The following qualifications and skills are essential for success in this role:
- 7+ years of general insurance claims experience;
- Strong written and oral communication skills;
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and work flexibly when required;
- Deductive reasoning and problem-solving skills;
- Experience in providing indemnity advice to stakeholders.
Desirable Qualifications:
The following qualifications would be highly regarded:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, such as Law, Business/Commerce, Loss Adjusting or ANZIIF studies;
- Previous client-facing experience;
- Experience in mentoring colleagues.
