Due to our national and global expansion, we have a new opportunity for an experienced **Finance Officer **to join our Finance Services team based in Newcastle. This role is part of our Credit Control and will appeal to those with strong communication and customer service skills and a high level of self-motivation, energy and drive.
You will display the ability to develop strong and successful partnerships with Finance Managers and operational stakeholders across both our Australian/New Zealand operations as well as other global locations as the shared services function grows. You will be a strong operational focused team player who is able to drive successful outcomes.
In this position, you will be focusing to perform proactive support to the Team Leader/Managers, performing finance tasks as required and delivering services to ensure compliance with all company policies, internal controls and procedures.
**Key Responsibilities.**
- Ensuring tasks and transactions are processed in an accurate, timely and cost effective manner in adherence to GHD applicable limits of authority.
- Tasks will be assigned in adherence to separation of duties guidelines based on work load requirements. Core tasks will include:
- Credit Control & Collections
- Receipting
- Provide troubleshooting support
- To support the Finance Services function by undertaking the duties assigned by the Team Leader/Manager as outlined in the Finance Services duty statements.
- Assist the team on other tasks or projects as required
**Governance**
- Ensure compliance with all GHD finance policies and procedures
- Provide continuous feedback to the Manager, including positive confirmations on matters relating to compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure a co-operative and open knowledge sharing relationship is developed and maintained with other operating centres
**About you**:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a similar position
- Team and customer oriented focus
- Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise workload
- Initiative and problem solving ability
- First class communication and interpersonal skills coupled with a professional approach and attitude
- Proven experience working within a large / complex organisation
- Strong adherence to GHD values, Codes of Conduct and Policies
