About the role:Centrogen is seeking motivated and safety-conscious people to join our Seasonal Fire Crew across North Queensland (Townsville & Weipa) and Central Queensland (Rockhampton Region).
These positions support our fire mitigation program, helping to reduce fuel loads, maintain access tracks, and respond to fire events over the declared fire danger period.We're planning ahead for our busy 2026 season (April–October) and are now welcoming Expressions of Interest to join our team during this period.This is a hands-on, physically demanding outdoor role that requires flexibility, teamwork, and a strong focus on safety.
Crew members may be deployed locally or across the state depending on operational needs.
Willingness to perform extended living away from home rosters, up to 2 weeks duration.ResponsibilitiesCarrying out fire preparation, mitigation works and hazard reduction worksOperate and maintain firefighting tools, machinery and vehiclesSupporting fire response operations, including frontline firefighting duties when requiredPerforming vegetation management tasks such as weed control and clearing drainsAssisting with inspections and reporting on fire readiness activitiesEnsuring safety standards are followed for yourself, your crew and the communitySkills & ExperienceStrong communication and teamwork skillsAbility to work safely, follow directions, and complete tasks with minimal supervisionPhysically fit and comfortable working outdoors in hot, remote and rugged conditionsCurrent manual Driver's Licence (essential)Prior firefighting, rural fire brigade, vegetation or land management experience (desirable)Tickets for chainsaw, chemical application, or 4WD operations (desirable)Crew Member (Firefighting Operations) CertificationsThe following units are required.
