Firefighter and Land Management Opportunities

  • Carry out fire mitigation, hazard reduction burns and frontline firefighting duties.
  • Work with a team to protect communities and maintain access tracks.

We're seeking motivated and safety-conscious individuals to join our seasonal fire crew across North Queensland and Central Queensland.

This is a hands-on, physically demanding outdoor role that requires flexibility, teamwork and a strong focus on safety.

As a firefighter and land manager, your day may include:

  • Carrying out fire preparation, mitigation works and hazard reduction works.
  • Operating and maintaining firefighting tools, machinery and vehicles.
  • Supporting fire response operations, including frontline firefighting duties when required.
  • Performing vegetation management tasks such as weed control and clearing drains.

You'll need:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to work safely, follow directions and complete tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in hot, remote and rugged conditions.
  • A current manual driver's license.

Preferred skills and qualifications include:

  • Prior firefighting, rural fire brigade or vegetation experience.
  • Tickets for chainsaw, chemical application or 4WD operations.
  • First aid certification.

Additional requirements include:

  • The ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen.
  • Availability to work on a roster including weekends, public holidays and call-outs during fire danger periods.
  • Commitment to completing mandatory training prior to deployment.
