Job Overview

This role involves working as part of a seasonal fire crew in North and Central Queensland. You will be responsible for carrying out fire preparation, mitigation works, and hazard reduction works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain firefighting tools, machinery, and vehicles
  • Support fire response operations, including frontline firefighting duties when required
  • Perform vegetation management tasks such as weed control and clearing drains
  • Assist with inspections and reporting on fire readiness activities
Requirements and Certifications
  • Current manual Driver's Licence (essential)
  • Prior firefighting, rural fire brigade, vegetation or land management experience (desirable)
  • Certifications: FWPCOR2210, PUAEQU001, PUAFIR204, PUAOPE013, PUATEA001, PUAFIR402, PUAFIR406, PUAFIR506, PUAFIR515
Additional Requirements
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
  • Availability to work on a roster including weekends, public holidays, and call-outs during fire danger periods
