As a Human Resources Consultant, you will be part of a team of passionate HR professionals working in partnership with a range of clients and business areas across the organisation to support the delivery of the Department's objectives.
If you like variety then this role is for you. You will be involved in delivering a range of HR services, including providing HR advice and support services across the full breadth of HR activities, working with staff to resolve issues, providing coaching, training and support to senior leaders and staff.
This role will provide the opportunity to progress your HR career by enabling you to build a broad set of HR skills and capabilities.
What you will be doing
- Provide advice, HR consultancy and support services to management and staff across a full range of human resource matters including: o HR legislation, policy, procedures and processeso Recruitment and selectiono performance and development Employee relationso Workforce planningo Job analysis and evaluationo Work health and safetyo Payroll and entitlements related issues. Undertake research and analysis to develop advice, policy, procedures and strategic documents relating to complex employment matters which support business operations and facilitate continuous improvement. Facilitate the resolution of complex employee relations issues through the provision of effective support, through case management and workplace interventions. Undertake HR projects, including research and preparation of associated reports, submissions and correspondence, and implement agreed outcomes. Provide relevant data, accompanying analysis and reports to support business initiatives and employee management including establishment management. Actively participate as a team member to build and sustain positive working relationships with team members and clients and to promote a positive culture which emphasises quality client service delivery.
What we are looking for
- You have the ability to provide advice on contemporary human resource management practices and issues including the capacity to think, plan and contribute to improvements to HR processes and practices and the achievement oforganisational goals. You work responsively in a service delivery environment by developing and maintaining relationships through collaboration with team members, clients and other HR professionals. You have proven experience in delivering a broad range of HR and ER services, often in an environment of conflicting priorities and deadlines. You make effective use of individual and team capabilities and are receptive to changes in your clients' requirements. You consult, liaise and negotiate confidently and in a clear and concise manner through structured written and oral communication to support a complex service delivery environment.
