We have a HQ in Adelaide with hybrid working there or remote first in other states and countries.About the roleExploration Geophysicist at Fleet Space Technologies work with our clients; leading Mineral Exploration companies across the world on unlocking the Earth's resources by processing, modeling, and interpreting diverse geophysical datasets.Your expertise will be crucial in providing insightful geophysical support and technical guidance to both internal teams and external partners.
Furthermore, you will directly contribute to the success of customer exploration programs through your specialised knowledge and analytical skills.We are looking for Geophysicists with Mineral Exploration, ideally with strengths in Electromagnetic techniques.Role responsibilitiesInterpret and apply geophysical techniques to analyse subsurface data for mineral exploration.Compile reports and presentations on geophysical datasets, effectively communicating key findings and insights.Evaluate the performance of various analysis techniques to optimise data processing and interpretation workflows.Develop and implement geophysical inversions, including model building, to generate robust subsurface representations.Process and interpret geophysical data utilising in-house software to extract meaningful geological information.Ensure adherence to industry standards and processes throughout all geophysical activities.Adapt data collection procedures and survey design based on site conditions and project requirements to maximise data quality.Provide broad geophysical support and expert technical advice to internal and external stakeholders.Support customer exploration programs by applying geophysical expertise to their specific project needs and objectives.Represent Fleet Space Technologies and effectively present research findings at relevant industry conferences.Actively research the latest industry advancements and integrate new knowledge into daily practices.Maintain thorough and organised documentation of all work.Role requirementsKey Skills and ExperienceBachelor's degree or higher in GeophysicsMinimum of 3 years experience as a Mineral Exploration Geophysicist.Strong understanding and practical application of various geophysical techniques (e.g., Magnetotellurics (MT), magnetic, seismic etc) with Electromagnetic being idealProficiency in processing and interpreting geophysical dataExperience in developing and implementing geophysical inversions and model buildingStrong skills in Python for data analysis, scripting, and automation of geophysical workflowsDemonstrated ability to compile clear and concise reports on geophysical datasetsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detailFamiliarity with industry standards and best practices in mineral exploration geophysicsExperience providing technical advice and support to internal and external stakeholdersStrong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information effectively to diverse audiencesCollaborative team playerAbility to listen and understand customer needsAbout Fleet SpaceFleet Space Technologies vision from the beginning was to build technologies to help humanity explore and connect the Earth, Moon, and Mars.This led us to develop and launch one of Australia's largest constellation of satellites, create our satellite-enabled mineral exploration technology (ExoSphere), and send Australia's first seismic technology (SPIDER) to the Moon in 2026.
