Cloud Infrastructure Specialist
The Cloud Infrastructure Specialist plays a pivotal role in designing, engineering and launching open source, Linux-based storage solutions and AWS-based products and services. The specialist's primary focus is on enhancing the stability and performance of the system by maintaining and improving its security posture, continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborates with System Engineers, Developers, Architects and DevOps engineers to design and implement automated solutions using CI/CD Pipelines for infrastructure and software build, deployment and configuration.
Demonstrates strong experience using AWS resource technologies to develop and deploy hybrid and no-hybrid enterprise solutions.
Possesses strong knowledge of Kubernetes, preferably running across cloud platforms and on premise.
Contributes towards automation/configuration management using Docker, Terraform, Jenkins or an equivalent.
Maintains code and scripting version control repositories and related systems supporting initiatives around "infrastructure as code". GitHub and Azure DevOps
Identifies, troubleshoots and resolves problems with the build, deployment and continuous integration process.
Leverages scripting languages to build automated solutions and integrations on an ad-hoc basis. Languages often include Python, Terraform, AWS Cloud formation.
Engages in problem solving in its many forms, from epic to the mundane.
Reduces complexity wherever possible - Automates the handling of it everywhere else.
Designs and Documents Cloud Architecture Solutions.
Composes Root Cause Analysis Reports
Ensures security is integrated into all architecture solutions to meet compliance standards.
Develops and maintains installation and configuration procedures.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience with IaaS and SaaS solutions design, development and deployment in an AWS environment
Experience with multi-petabyte storage implementations using open source storage technologies.
CI/CD experience a plus.
Dev-Ops experience a plus.
GCP experience a plus.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, including active listening, problem solving when under pressure, and facilitation.
