Role Description
This is an on-site role in North Brisbane and Deception Bay, Queensland, for a Disability Support Worker. Ideally, a female candidate who is comfortable driving a van is preferred. The Disability Support Worker will be responsible for providing personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities. Day-to-day tasks include assisting with daily living activities, facilitating community participation, implementing individualised support plans, monitoring and safeguarding the well-being of participants, and maintaining open and effective communication with participants, their families, and team members.
Responsibilities
Provide personalised care and support to individuals with disabilities.
Assist with daily living activities and personal cares as needed.
Facilitate community participation and engagement in activities.
Implement and monitor individualised support plans.
Monitor the wellbeing and safeguarding of participants.
Maintain open and effective communication with participants, their families, and team members.
Qualifications
Experience as a Support Worker or relevant field
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of safeguarding practices and procedures
Compassionate and patient with a strong commitment to empowering individuals with disabilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Relevant certifications or training in Disability Support or similar field
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation
