**POSITION OVERVIEW**

The Power BI Specialist role involves proactively contributing to the development of Power BI data products and the day-to-day administration of Power BI services across multiple tenancies.

The Power BI Specialist will provide best-practice development advice related to various projects and initiatives. A key element of the role is to actively seek out opportunities to mature overall technical capability of services for the ACT Government.

**KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Implement data and system solutions with significant business impact, including the enhancement and expansion of the Power BI service to ACT Government Directorates.
- Explore long term information technology requirements and support the adoption of new features of the Power BI service.
- Liaise with technical areas across DDTS to collaboratively deliver project/services outcomes.
- Iterate existing governance mechanisms, and associated documentation, to be in alignment with the WhoG Data Governance Framework.
- Develop relationships with stakeholders across the ACT Government to support and expand the Power BI Service.
- This position may involve direct supervision of staff.
- Other duties as required.

**KEY REQUIREMENTS**
- Technical knowledge and experience in the design, development, implementation, and support of Power BI data products.
- Technical knowledge and experience in the administration of the Power BI service and Microsoft tenancy administration.
- Experience in database design, implementation, administration, normalisation, and producing decision useful report outputs.
- Excellent knowledge of fundamental IT concepts, systems, platforms, tools and technologies, programming methodology, hardware, software, and services.
- Broad experience or exposure to translating business requirements into appropraite data source and database system solutions.
- Experience in or knowledge of Agile project toolset such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
