**About The Role**:
We are currently seeking a Inventory Officer to join a Local Government department for a full time contract. You will play a crucial role in assisting with the procurement of goods and materials to ensure effective, consistent and cost-efficient delivery of stores related services and outcomes for the Asset Maintenance department.
This is a full time contract working 36.25 hours per week in Margate, Mon - Fri until Friday 7th July. Possibility of Extension. Pay rate is $38.25 per hour.
**Key Responsibilities and Outcomes**:
- Assist with all system related procurement functions relating to stores and workshops including raising purchase orders, managing purchase order amendments, receipt of goods and processing invoices.
- Act as the first point for all customer requests for goods and materials and issue requisitioned goods within identified timeframes.
- Check receipts and place into stock within prescribed time limits or advise intended recipients of expected deliveries.
- Assist in undertaking perpetual stock take of store inventory and report on anomalies, as required.
- Maintain security over store's assets (Stock and Fixtures/Fittings and Equipment).
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, approved standards, policies and procedures relating to the department's practices and processes including the maintenance and issue of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) where required.
- Operate plant (i.e. forklift, wheel loader, front end loader) as required based on the needs of the department.
- Use and maintain plant and equipment provided, including all personal protective equipment, in accordance with manufacturer's instructions, council's safety policy and procedures.
- Contribute to a positive team environment in order to achieve a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focused culture.
**Qualifications Required**:
- Current C class driver's licence.
- Current High Risk Work (HRW) licence - Forklift Truck (LF).
- Certification in the operation of Front End Loader (LL)
