** About the role **
What do you think of the concept of having friends on demand?
As an AMH Activator, you are free to choose any social event of your liking that youd like to coordinate and lead with others. You simply advertise the event on the social media platform Meetup, and then our members (which we have over 7,600 people) sign up and join the event with you.

** Role requirements **
Some of the skills you will need for this role include:
* Be an excellent communicator
* Have strong group facilitation skills
* Provide a safe and inclusive environment
* Be confident when using the social media platform Meetup to post events.
**Time commitment **
We recommend that our AMH Activators coordinate and lead at least one monthly event to stay engaged and connected with our members, but this is only a suggestion. Here are some things you may like to know about the activator role in managing an event:
* Hosting usually takes 1-3 hours, depending on the activity conducted.
* Events can be run anytime throughout the week and/or weekend.
* Drafting and publishing the event on Meetup and responding to member queries takes up to 15 minutes.
** Recruitment process **
Upon applying for this role, you will receive a Google Form link asking a few screening questions.
Please be aware that youll need to attend this workshop to become a volunteer of Activate Mental Health:
**Saturday, 4th October 2025 at 2 pm - 5 pm** \- Victoria Park Community Centre\, 248 Gloucester Street\, East Victoria Park 6101
The purpose of the workshop is to:
1) To understand what Activate Mental Health is about and connect with existing and prospective volunteers.
2) To have a safe space to learn and ask questions.
3) To understand the minimal obligations involved in supporting our members.
After the workshop, you can do one of two options to complete your training to become an Activator.
1. Attend a Zoom training session on Saturday, 11th October, from 2 pm to 3:30 pm
2. Do a self-paced volunteer onboarding course.
