We are seeking an experienced
Aderant Billing & Document Automation Specialist
to join a leading firm within the legal industry. This role will focus on optimising billing processes, designing and maintaining billing templates, and ensuring compliance with industry requirements.
You will work closely with Finance, IT, and Practice groups to deliver accurate, efficient, and client-friendly billing solutions through Aderant Expert, Bill Design Studio, and DocuDraft.
Responsibilities
Manage the end-to-end
Aderant billing cycle
, including prebills, adjustments, and final bill generation.
Design, maintain, and optimise billing templates in
Bill Design Studio / Bill Formatter
, including use of Bill Text Variables (BTVs) and conditional formatting.
Create and manage
DocuDraft templates
, including layout design, merge field configuration, conditional logic, reusable clauses/snippets, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with Finance and IT teams to ensure smooth integration of data into billing templates.
Use
SQL
to query and validate Aderant tables for accuracy and testing.
Automate
Word-based templates
for streamlined billing and document generation.
Ensure billing processes and templates meet compliance standards, including
LEDES/UTBMS
, multi-currency, and
GST/VAT
requirements.
Provide subject matter expertise on legal billing best practices within a law firm environment.
Skills & Experience
Proven experience with
Aderant Expert Billing
, including full billing cycle knowledge.
Strong background in
Bill Design Studio
or
Bill Formatter
.
Hands-on expertise with
DocuDraft template creation and maintenance
.
Technical proficiency in
SQL
and
Microsoft Word automation
.
Solid understanding of
LEDES/UTBMS formats
,
multi-currency billing
, and
tax compliance (GST/VAT)
.
Previous experience working within a
law firm billing environment
is essential.
