About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide leadership and support to the Metro South Health (MSH) Independent Patient Rights Advisers and perform duties of an Independent Patient Rights Adviser, by advising consumers and their nominated support persons, family, carers and other support persons of their rights under the Mental Health Act 2016 (the Act).
- An Independent Patient Rights Adviser in performing the adviser's functions must act independently and impartially from MSH Addition and Mental Health Services. To ensure the independence of the roles, the Independent Patient Rights Advisers will be employed under MSH Clinical Governance, Risk and Legal.
- This role reports operationally to the Director Clinical Governance, MSH Clinical Governance, Risk and Legal.
- Work collaboratively with the Statewide Coordinator, Mental Health Alcohol and Other Drugs Branch, Queensland Health and other Independent Patient Rights Adviser across Queensland.
- This position has operational responsibility of approximately 3.8 FTE.
- Any financial and human resource delegations are in accordance with MSH Financial Sub-Delegations Manual and MSH Human Resource Sub-Delegations Manual.
