We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines - the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.

Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia's national security. We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work. A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.

**About the Opportunity**

Reporting to the Head of Production, the Contractor Manager is responsible for ensuring that all contractors operating within the Operations function on ASC sites are appropriately trained, competent, and authorised to carry out their designated Scope of Works with the appropriate level of supervision supported by ASC. This role serves as a key interface between the project management and supply departments, working closely with the Production and Boat teams within Operations to ensure the contract scopes are clearly defined and that performance KPIs are effectively implemented to drive optimal performance.

**Responsibilities**
- Lead the operational framework that governs contractor engagement and ensures the safe execution of work during submarine availabilities across both South Australia and Western Australia sites.

- Monitor and report on contractor performance against KPIs, fostering strong relationships to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop and integrate contractor monitoring and evaluation processes into provider agreements and performance metrics.
- Conduct regular reviews of contractor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and delivery standards and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to uphold principles of resource allocation, cost efficiency, service effectiveness, and quality.
- Develop and execute contractor mobilisation and demobilisation plans to support project timelines and operational readiness.
- Manage contract variations, including negotiation and approval of third-party agreements.

**About You**
- Minimum of 10 years' experience in operational leadership roles, with at least 5 years in the defence sector preferred.
- Demonstrated senior-level experience in heavy industry and/or defence environments.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial literacy.
- In-depth knowledge of contract development, negotiation, and end-to-end contract management.
- Previous experience in leading high-performing operational teams in complex, fast-paced settings.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and resources.
- Strong influencing skills and ability to drive organisational change.
