A major milestone was achieved at Cowal with Board and regulatory approvals received for the development of the Cowal Underground Mine, which provides a higher-grade ore source that will be blended with the current E42 open pit and stockpile ore. The development of the Cowal Underground Mine is part of the Group's goal of Cowal producing 350,000 ounces of low-cost gold a year and extend its mine life out beyond 17 years, while at the same time injecting significant economic benefit for all stakeholders. The planned capital investment is A$380 million.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Processing Manager, the purpose of this role is to optimize the gold recovery process through processing plant optimisation and effective cost management. This will be achieved by ensuring all metallurgical and laboratory staff function in a safe, high quality, environmentally responsible manner to achieve cost efficient gold production.

**Key responsibilities and duties**
- Developing, communicating, and implementing the weekly and monthly ore treatment plan.
- Reviewing, managing, and improving metallurgical performance to meet targets.
- Implementing and maintaining short
- and medium-term production planning to provide accurate and detailed forecasts.
- Being responsible for the ownership of mill liners and QA/QC requirements during relines
- Liaising with maintenance and processing personnel to ensure optimum performance of the plant.
- Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in safe production practices, ore processing capability, metal recoveries, maintenance practices and cost of production.
- Supporting the Processing Manager in the development and implementation of long-term strategic planning.
- Ensuring the Ore treatment function meets all site and external compliance requirements.
- Actively promoting continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
- Working within and comply with the Evolution Mining and CGO site-specific safety and health management system**.**

**About you**

Our aim is to ensure our people are developed to enable them to progress their career. You will be driven and collaborative with excellent relationship building skills and the ability to prioritise and schedule work. You must have good computer literacy, including spread sheet and database development and be a proficient user of MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

To succeed in the role, you will have:

- Tertiary qualification in Extractive Metallurgy, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
- A minimum of 8 years' experience in Metalliferous processing, with a minimum of 5 years' supervisory experience
- Prior experience required on all facets of gold plant maintenance, process control systems, mining methods, challenges and conversant in mineral geology
- Demonstrated operational experience with SABC grinding, gravity recovery, flotation, CIL and AARL elution circuits
- Awareness of relevant dangerous goods legislation, locally and selected international codes and cyanide code
- Experience with data management and software
